DMA Project-Chandauli
Gramya Sansthan focuses on empowering the adolescent girls and women come from the most vulnerable and marginalized communities through collectivizing them into respective groups or CBOs, knowledge building, promoting leadership and strengthening their capacities to respond to gender based discrimination while realizing their potentials and leading them towards gender justice. As per field level experience, in due course of time, the Girls’ and Women’s group members understand the issues as discussed with them. They come forward to raise their voice against gender based disparities or violence issues, non-access to the entitlement and/or government services & scheme’s benefits.
These groups also support to develop common understanding among the intended beneficiaries on several issues and bridging critical gaps in their development. For example-reproductive health and rights, educational opportunities, skill building, decision making in important decision e.g. marriage, employment, family planning and so on. Gramya as facilitating and grassroot organization have been closely working for the capacity building of the leaders of the adolescent girls and women groups over the years. The project intends to reach to targeted 1200 number of adolescent girls in the age of 10 to 19 years and around 600 numbers of women in the age group of 30 to 45 years age belonging to the target communities.
