Women’s Convention

One day a long Women’s Convention was organized at the Gorain village of the Sewapuri block of the Varanasi District on the 19th of March 2014. More than 200 women across the 70 Gram Panchayats under the PACs project participated in the program. The Village Chairman, members of the PRIs, Women CBO Leaders, Staff of Gramya and the team of PACS had discussions regarding the employment of women under the MNREGA, timely payments of Wages on the prescribed rates along with the collective demand of work under the MNREGA. The operational Guidelines and Compensation against delayed wage payments including Unemployment allowances were also some important matters of discussions during the convention
