There are many social taboos around females in patriarchal society. Violence against women and girls is accepted by them as if it’s their destiny. Perspective building of the women on gender and gender based discrimination has been one of the key interventions of the organization over the period of time since it’s inception. Women empowerment and gender equality go hands in hands. It’s importance to bridge the gender gap in order to empower the women and girls. Gramya Sansthan has been working on this issue for a long time. By the time improvement is seen in several areas in terms of educational attainment, increase of the women’s representation at different level, raising of voices on the issue(s) by the women’s group leaders against the responsible authority. Knowledge building and increasing their leadership capacity has been a good move in this aspect that brings new hope and the women are recognized in the working areas amid rural communities.
